Langston University

Northwestern Oklahoma State University

The Nursing Division at Northwestern Oklahoma State University offers an online RN-BSN program for experienced nurses. The entire program can be completed online, with the exception of clinical experiences, which can be completed at the student’s current place of employment. The program boasts convenient classes and liberal course transfers.

There is also a traditional four-year BSN program available, which takes place on the university’s campus. Students in this program have full access to the Ketterman Clinical Skills Lab, which is a 1,376 sq ft facility that is equipped with eight mannequins and 15 standardized patient parts. There is also a 3 bed hospital ward, a labor and delivery suite, and a 4-bed hospital ward that can be transformed to either a pediatric unit or an adult medical/surgical unit.

At Oklahoma Baptist University’s College of Nursing, BSN students have the option to minor in Faith Community Nursing or Cross-Cultural Ministry as part of the three BSN tracks: traditional four-year BSN, LPN-BSN track and RN-BSN track. All programs integrate Christianity with nursing practice and nursing is seen as both a ministry and as a calling. All students in the program have the opportunity to participate in missions trips with the program. The BSN program at Oklahoma Christian University is designed for the first-time college student that has no previous experience or education in the field of nursing. This 126 credit hour program can be completed in four years. The program is designed around five goals: the Christian principles of compassion, service, integrity and respect, critical thinking, effective communication, safe and appropriate nursing care and leadership. All students also learn to appreciate the unique cultural variations of all patients. Students are required to take courses from a variety of nursing specializations in order to gain experience as a nurse generalist.

Oklahoma City University

Kramer School of Nursing

The Kramer School of Nursing at Oklahoma City University is consistently ranked in the to 10% of nursing schools in the country. The school is unique in that unlike many schools, true freshmen can declare a nursing major at the beginning of the college career, meaning students do not have to apply to the program after the first two years of college, and know prior to beginning courses if they have been accepted into the program. There are several paths towards graduation, including an accelerated, traditional and part time BSN. There are also second degree options, RN-BSN and BSN-PhD pathways. Students in the accelerated program must be high-performing students that can fulfill all program requirements in 16 months. Since 2001, 100% of graduates have been employed within a month of graduation.
