Bellin College of Nursing

Located in Green Bay, Bellin College is a small with an emphasis on training students for working in various medical fields. Columbia College of Nursing

The Knowlton Hospital in Glendale opened a training school that would allow nurses to gain the education they needed without attending college. The school eventually became the Columbia College of Nursing. In 2010, construction ended on a new building that provided nursing students with access to state of the art technologies.

Concordia University-Wisconsin

Concordia University, also known as Concordia University-Wisconsin, is a large private college operated by a branch of the Lutheran Church. Founded in 1881, the college originally held classes in a building owned by the church before building its own campus. Though the college now offers dozens of programs, the majority of students enroll in health sciences programs.

Concordia University-Wisconsin, Milwaukee

Concordia University opened a small branch of its main campus in downtown Milwaukee. Now known as the Milwaukee Midtown Center, it offers students the chance to take some of their general education courses or some of their first nursing classes before they enroll in the main program. This school offers a fewer number of courses and majors than the traditional campus does.

Edgewood College can trace its roots back to a former boarding school for girls. Dr. B. Myron Cedarholm opened Maranatha Baptist University with the idea that students needed to learn more about religion while studying other subjects. Founded as a technical school, the Milwaukee School of Engineering opened in 1903. University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire

The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire didn’t become part of the UW School System until the 1960s. During its early years, it operated as a normal school that taught future educators and granted diplomas and certificates.
